If getting old is as painless as this year, I will sign up for another term. Liz and I spent the day at a card show and demo in Punta Gorda followed by lunch at Panera Bread. When we returned home, the gang headed off for the Service Beach picnic shelters for supper and cake. “If you are lucky enough to live by the beach, you are lucky enough.”
Fifty-six (56) people attended our 4th annual party. The weather was fabulous – 80 degrees with a warm breeze. We set up tables and umbrellas across the front of the Gallant’s and our place. People commented as we set up at all the tables and chairs – we had to admit that the 2 couples owned them all. We had a great time with lots of good food and drinks – and tons of laughs. Dave wore his button that said “Kiss me I’m Irish” and as a result was able to get lots of kisses even one from Charles!
This Ibis was not invited to the St. Patrick's Day party but he kept a close watch from the Gallant's Norfolk pine.
Mary and Bob left this morning after a great 2 weeks here in Venice. It was a very packed time with lots of eating: Olive Garden, Sharkey’s, Pineapples, N’tinos, Panera Bread as well as lots of meals here. Then we did the beach BBQ and a backyard BBQ. Our group was always large – topping out at 20 one evening. Mary joined Liz and I for card making one night and even made a few!!! The five gals even had a “pedi party” at a local nail place. Somehow we talked Bob and Mary into learning to play dominoes (Venice rules) and they joined us both Thursday nights for the fun. We play with 16-20 players and set ourselves up in the hall – the girls won the first week and the guys the second.
Tonight we sent Mary and Bob off in style with a night at the Pineapples Grill. Eighteen of us spent a great evening listening to Sammie J and the Guys on the outdoor patio of the new restaurant.
